Azobe, also known as Ekki, is a dense and durable hardwood, prized for its exceptional strength and resistance to decay. It features a dark red to purple-brown heartwood with visible white deposits in the pores. Azobe is ideal for hydraulic works, bridges, heavy flooring, and other demanding structural applications. The sapwood is distinctly demarcated, while the coarse texture and interlocked grain make it visually striking and highly functional.
